Toulouse Football Club has reached an agreement with Rennes to loan Charlie Cresswell. The young English defender (23 years old, under contract until 2028) will play for the Breton club for a season. Rennes will have an obligatory buyout option at the end of the season, for a sum of 22.5 million euros. Adding the amount of 2.5 million for the paid loan and bonuses of a maximum of 3 million euros, TFC can reach a total of 28 million euros. It's an expected outcome after several weeks of negotiations. The young English defender joined Toulouse in 2024 and quickly became a key player for the club. He hoped to be part of the Three Lions group for the World Cup, but it wasn't possible. Now, he hopes to achieve this goal with Rennes. TFC is currently 10th in Ligue 1, with 37 points, 10 wins, 7 draws and 13 losses in 30 matches. The club is 26 points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain. TFC has also scored 41 goals and conceded 42 this season.
